Privacy notice

This privacy notice explains how Quill Drift, a personal blog operated by Priya from Singapore, handles information when you visit quilldrift.pro. I wrote it in plain language because notices only work if people can read them without a legal dictionary. If anything here is unclear, write to [email protected] and ask. I will answer as plainly as I can.

Who operates this site. Quill Drift is an independent personal blog. It is not a business portal, not a marketplace, and not affiliated with any government agency. Contact details on the site — postal address at Blk 866A Tampines Street 83, telephone, and email — exist so you can reach me directly. There is no sales team and no data broker behind the pages.

What this site collects. By default, Quill Drift does not use analytics scripts, advertising pixels, or social widgets that profile you across other websites. Server logs maintained by the hosting provider may record technical information common to any web server: IP address, browser type, referring page, and timestamps. I do not use those logs to build personal profiles. I look at them only if something breaks and needs troubleshooting.

Cookies. Quill Drift uses one first-party cookie to remember your choice about embedded Google Maps and related display preferences. Its name and behaviour are described on the cookies page. Strictly necessary storage may also hold your consent decision so the banner does not reappear every visit. You can reject non-essential cookies and still read the site; maps will show a placeholder until you choose otherwise.

Embedded maps. When you allow embedded content, pages load an iframe from Google Maps showing the area around Tampines Eco Green. Google may process data according to its own policies when that iframe loads. I do not receive your Google account details. If you prefer not to load the iframe, keep embedded content off in cookie settings or reject all non-essential cookies when prompted.

Email correspondence. If you email [email protected], I receive your address, your message, and any information you choose to include. I use that information only to read and reply. I do not add you to marketing lists because there are none. I do not sell or rent email addresses. I keep messages as long as needed for continuity of conversation and ordinary inbox housekeeping, then delete or archive them without sharing.

What I do not do. I do not request NRIC numbers, payment card details, or government portal credentials through this site. There are no account registrations, no checkout flows, and no forms that upload documents. If someone contacts you pretending to be this blog asking for such information, it is not me.

Children. Quill Drift is written for general readers and is not directed at children. I do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under thirteen. If you believe a child has sent personal information by email, notify me and I will delete it.

Links to other sites. Entries may mention places or link to external resources. Leaving quilldrift.pro means the privacy practices of other sites apply. I choose links carefully but cannot control third-party behaviour. Read their notices if you are concerned.

Security. No website can promise perfect security. I choose hosting and configurations with sensible defaults, keep software updated, and limit what the site asks from you because fewer inputs mean fewer risks. Email is not encrypted end-to-end unless you use tools that do so on your side.

Your choices. You may disable non-essential cookies, avoid loading maps, and refrain from emailing personal details. You may use browser tools to block cookies entirely, understanding that some preferences may not persist. You may copy static text from pages for personal reference; please do not republish large portions as if you authored them.

Changes. If I change how the site handles data, I will update this page and adjust the date below. Material changes will be described here in direct language rather than hidden in footnotes.

Contact. Questions about privacy go to [email protected] or to the postal address listed in the footer. I will respond during quiet hours, Singapore time.

Disclaimer. This notice describes my personal blog practices to the best of my knowledge. It is not legal advice. If you need formal guidance for your organisation, consult a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.

Lawful bases (plain language). I process the little information this site touches because it is necessary to operate a website (server logs), because you ask me to when you email (correspondence), and because you choose preferences (cookie consent). I do not rely on broad “legitimate interest” claims to profile readers. There is no advertising network to fund.

Retention. Server logs rotate on schedules set by the hosting provider; I do not archive them locally. Cookie consent values persist until you clear them. Email is kept in an ordinary inbox until deleted during housekeeping — typically when a thread is resolved or when storage needs trimming. I do not maintain a separate CRM.

International transfers. Hosting and email providers may store data outside Singapore depending on their infrastructure. I select providers with clear policies and HTTPS by default. Embedded Google Maps may involve transfers governed by Google; you can avoid loading the iframe.

Rights you may expect. Depending on applicable law, you may ask what I hold about you, request correction, or ask deletion of email correspondence. Because the site does not profile visitors, there is often nothing to export beyond a cookie on your own device that you can clear yourself. Write to [email protected] with requests; I will respond within a reasonable time.

Automated decisions. None. There is no scoring, ranking, or filtering of visitors by behaviour on this site.

Data breaches. If I become aware of a breach affecting information I control, I will take reasonable steps to mitigate harm and notify affected individuals if email contact exists and risk is real. The site’s minimal collection reduces but does not eliminate this possibility.

Openness. I will answer reasonable questions about practices described here. If you believe I can improve clarity further, say so. Notices should be readable in one sitting with tea, not over multiple sittings with footnotes.

Third-party processors. Hosting providers, domain registrars, and email services process technical data so the site and mailbox function. I choose vendors with published privacy terms and support HTTPS. I do not instruct them to profile visitors on my behalf. If a provider changes terms, I review whether the site should remain there.

Voluntary information. Beyond email, you might mention your name, neighbourhood, or other details in correspondence. I treat those as part of your message, not as fields in a database. I do not merge email content with server logs to build profiles. Each channel stays separate because the site is operated by one person without marketing tooling.

Do Not Track. Some browsers send a Do Not Track signal. This site does not respond with a special header because it already avoids cross-site tracking by design. Your choice of cookies remains the meaningful control here.

Accessibility of this notice. If you need this text in another format because of accessibility needs, email [email protected] and describe what would help. I will try to provide a sensible alternative, such as a plain text copy by reply.

Complaints. If you believe I handled information improperly, contact me first so I can understand and fix mistakes. Personal blogs should be accountable in proportion to their size — small does not mean careless.

The map is hidden until you choose to show embedded content.
